NOT WASH THEIR DAMN HANDS after using the bathroom?

WTF?

I'm afraid to even grab the door handle, because VERY FEW of the guys that work in my office building wash their hands. It's disgusting!

This behavior, unfortunately for all concerned, falls directly into the middle of "Guy Thing" territory.

A Guy Thing does not have to be rational. In fact, the prime requisite for entrance into Guy Thing land is the pure irrationality of the Guy Thing in question.

Here, how rational does it seem to wash one's hands after using the facilities? Very. And yet, most men just don't do it. Nobody knows why.

A Guy Thing can also be (and mostly is) dangerous in some shape or form. Jumping from a moving truck onto a haybale, for instance. Haybales are, if you are thinking of the large round jobbies, are not terribly soft. Running (or flying) into one at high speed hurts and can break bones. The small ones aren't much fun either at that kind of speed. And yet, men do this. Sometimes they are drunk, and other times they are stone-cold sober. This is most assuredly a Guy Thing, falling into the 'dangerous' and the 'irrational' categories.

Take, for example, the incident where, on a dare, a schoolmate of mine drove his hopped-up truck better than axle-deep into a large pit of partially refined human feces. The fool left the back window open (in the back glass) and his knobby tires pitched some of the offending matter into the cab of his truck. This type of behavior fulfills both the 'stupid' and 'irrational' requirements, and depending on the depth of the human waste, can also be classified as 'dangerous'.

All men do Guy Things. There are no exceptions, no matter how hot the denial. All men have done some incredibly stupid thing at least once or twice in their lives. Some hide it better than others. Some take pride in it. Some show it off, and become wealthy on the showings of shows like Jackass.
