Is she shutting it down out of spite, or monetary concerns, for technical reasons, or just temporarily? I'm assuming you have cable, no? It does cost $40 a month, it's not a thing to be taken lightly. As a last-ditch solution, you might try one of those free-internet thingies. I used to use one... and they aren't 1/2 bad for a phone line...but still.
