I love playing with kanji to make them interesting and practically indecipherable for poor unknowing gaijin such as ourselves. :: laugh :: My name was meant to be spelt with *these* characters, or katakana on occasion; there's not really any kanji that suit it. Apparently, "Mana" means "psychic gifts", but I don't know in what language. o_O;

Here's an interesting case of kanji-twisting: There's someone in a band I love (Kagrra, give them a listen sometime) who looooves playing with kanji. His name is "Izumi", which is usually written like this: 泉 and means spring or fountain. But in his case, he's split it up into its two components to look like this: 白水. Technically, that'd read as "white water", right? I'm so bad at Japanese, so it took me a while to catch on to the whole thing. :: laugh :: Even the name of the band, "Kagrra", is a variant of the Japanese word 神楽 (kagura) which is a reference to the old practice of religious dance rites. The kanji mean "music of the gods" and are thus an absolutely kick-ass name for a band. ^_^

Out of curiosity, what programs are you all using? NJStar? NSJaIME? Just wonderin'.

Sorry if your eyes are all glazing over by now.

Mwaaa haa haaaaaa.......
Ok, I am using the product of evilsoft. MS-IME2000, which is integrated with Windows 2000 (which has FABULOUS asian text support!) It works so amazingly... you can type in all forms of kana, and there is some kanji auto-translation thingy. (I don't know enough japanese to know if it is working right.) The thing is, you have probebly tried japanese text support in Win95/98/ME (they're all the same...) and found that it really sucks. You gotta get Win2K for some REAL japanese text support. (Even my system calendar can be in japanese! It's wai cool!) I've never tried NJStar or any of it's derivatives, although I've heard they're quite good. For longer things or kanji, I use a program called JWPCE. It's basicly a japanese word processor. It comes with EDICT and ENAMDICT so it has really wicked kanji support. You can look up kanji in many different ways. (like radical or bushu lookup, four-corner method, SKIP, stroke count, or JIS index.) It has a really good dictionary lookup system too. (Although it didn't work too well untill i started using Win2K) Anyhow, aside from my trusty kana chart, that is how I do japanese!

Ohh, don't worry about the picture, Laurelin-senpai. ^.^ It's not exactly a time-sensitive issue, so all is good. Just whenever you get the chance...

This new picture isn't Klaha, it's actually Gackt. I feel like it's blasphemy, having a Gackt picture with Klaha's lyrics for a Mana handle. o_O;;; Oh well.

Red face

PSHHT... don't talk to me, blasphemy girl... Talk to the hand, 'cause Mana's in bed with me. And he's pissed... he's gonna come out of your wall socket tonight to fix your avvy.

NOooooooooooOOOOOoooooOOOOOOOOOoooooo!!

Mana said I was the only one he truly loved. T_T You're a dirty lying succubus, Laurelin! ::runs off crying::

(Actually... ><; I did find one picture of Mana from the Beast of Blood single, but in said picture he was sitting in a gym equipment storage room... @_@;;; So I thought I'd wait until I could get the nicer picture of him scanned from the lyrics booklet of the actual single. And that is why I am currently using a Gackt AV. However, I really like this picture; I'll feel bad when I stop using it ^^;;; )

Default Nimphomaniac

I belive the term is Nimphomaniac.
Besides its her job as a succubus is to steal the souls of men by invanding their dreams and becoming their sexual fantasy and once that uccurs their soul is hers
