Cool Laurelin's New Toy

Well, I'll give you three hints as to what it is... It's plastic, it gives me great pleasure, and it fits in my hand quite nicely....

Well, now that your gutter-minds have had a chance to possibly grasp at what I'm talking about, it's my new palm pilot IIIxe... I'm SOOOOOO excited about it. I'm going online right after this post to find all the goodies I can for it... I'm having a blast! I've already all but mastered the Graffiti writing language... (It's a bit weird, and REALLY REALLY touchy... especially with my v's) Well, now that I've finished, post some cool things you know about palm pilots... or, if you actually own one, tell me about some cool software I could find!

Mmmm.... palm piloty fun. In my opinion, they're not as useful as a real laptop, but meh, they're SUPER cool, and stylish too! I've mastered the graffiti, and if youre having trouble with v's, write them backwards. (The line-side first) Actually grafitti is REALLY flexible and lenient, many letters can be shortened by quite a few strokes. (Just like my handwriting!) Try out stuff.... see what works, and what doesn't. Anyhow, for software, get a picture drawing program like Teal Paint, or a Launcher type program. You can also find grafitti altering prograns that let you reprogram the stroke order and such. But the most funnest app is hackmaster. Get all kinds of hacks, backlight hacks, button hacks, IR hacks, overclock hacks, all sorts of fun stuff. (maybe there's even a vibrate-alarm hack..... )

Maye the word Palm Pilot is just another word she uses to describe her new toy .

I mean if your really think of the name it actually sounds like a battery operated device , ok lets just say the damn word

VIBRATOR!!!

Ahh I feel so much better now

The word PALM, yes you do hold IT in the PALM of you hand . PILOT, yes some of you may name IT this and a PILOT does have a destination .

Ok enough of my little gross mind but it had to be said.

*sigh*
Those Palm Pilots are gonna be on all of your desktops soon enough. Just look at the Palm Pilot Visor thingy. With that Gameboy-esque slot on the back, it does sooooo many different things. To name a few: Remote Control (IR Trancever), MP3 Player, Cell-Phone, Camera, and lots more! The CPU's are also getting faster... they started at 33 mhz for my weeny Palm 1000, now they're up to 100 mhz. Soon they will......
TAKE OVER THE WORLD!!!!! (dum dee dee dum dum dum, they're pinky and the brain, pinky and the brain....)

I bought one a couple months ago from a guy at work - an old Palm Pilot Professional with the 2mb/IR upgrade. Now it's flaking out on me, so I bought a new 3xe on eBay for $118. From a company in Toronto, ironically enough, Laur.
Tip - never ever use rechargables in your Palm. Even the alkaline ones.
I will love having a full 8MB to carry around; it was pretty easy to fill up the 2MB in the old one.

A game you might want to check out is called Ackeron. It's an RPG, and a pretty good one for something like a Palm.

I downloaded OnBoardC. It's a C compiler and resource editor that runs ON THE PALM. So you can write programs anywhere. And compile and run them on the spot. I got it after I was looking into a drawing program, and the author said he wrote it with OnBoardC during cigarette breaks and such.

I also used it to read when I had a moment or two. I read "Island of Dr. Moreau" again, and "Call of Cthulu" for the first time. There are a number of document readers out there, and several places to get books from. The last reader I tried was TomeRaider.

Unhappy

Why not use rechargables? and as for the Ccompiler, it should come with a program called PocketC...
