I heard on the news a few of the names and thought they sounded like they were in your area. Glad everything is ok.

I didn't hear about a fire down there, we've been too busy holding up traffic to stare at an Air France crash beside the highway. And, summarily, hold up traffic to stare at where it was now that the damn plane is gone.

Good to hear everyone's okay, I hope nobody lost their house down there, that'd be awful.

103. Hahahahah. 103 is cold down here! We've got a cool spell the last week or so.

Glad to hear that you guys did okay. To be honest, I'm kind of suprised you all haven't had more fires up there. My dad said it's been drier than usual.
Hope you guys don't see any more of that kind of thing.

it's way Dry...the 1000 hour fuels have almost no Moisture in them...last night we got called out on another fire and got air support from the big choppers that hold like 1500gal each and dump water on the fire...I was on the ground watching these guys fly in (which is pretty freakin Cool) and as i looked up I was like "way cool" then he opened his doors and dumped 1500 gal of lake water right where I was standing...I think I had time to a say oh **** and then got drenched...my fire buddies thought it was pretty funny as they knew enuf to get out of the way
