Here's my first addition to this lovely forum

This is from my poetry anthology that I had to submit to the evil scrutiny of my Writers' Craft teacher (Mrs McRoberts, for Kit's info)

Vecklärte Nacht

The edges of the moonlight draw me in,
Where am I?
Am I within my own subconscious,
Or am I truly at peace?

No more do the tumbling images of self doubt
Create twisted pathways leading to the sublime,
The inner desires my mind will not
Even admit to itself.

And yet, now, piece after piece has fallen away,
Revealing the true peace,
What I’ve been seeking all along without knowing it.

So now the world passes me by,
Jealous of my ease and calm,
Watching me stare at my world
Of never-ending moonlight, of transfigured night.
All the figures melt away into
Mindless drones without concern.

Am I a god?
Can I change what others do and think,
Making them carbon copies of a carbon world,
Of each other,
Of me.

Am I truly alone, then Moon?
