Well I know he does because as soon as I saw the pic I went to google to see if there was any gossip about it and found this in the google image search.

Yeah, he put them up to his face couldn't see anything and just stood there 'till someone pointed it out to him because he has never used binoculars before.

So... what you guys are all making fun of, is a guy that was handed binoculars and put them to his face without looking to see if the lense caps were on?
How many of you have done that before? What about taking a picture, only to notice that the lens cap was on? Or even taking one, yet the lense cap was still on? Be honest... |

Heh about 4 or 5 pics I took in Hawaii I turned the camera sideways to get tall shots. When they got developed we found that the wrist strap hangs right in front of the shutter when you do that, but not in front of the view finder

Yeah, well you see Ashaman, of course anyone could've done the same. I have, for instance, on several occasions. The fact is though, that it's much more interesting making fun of such a controversial person as G.W.Bush.
I have meant no offense in my posts, and I hope that none has been taken.

don't apologise for G.W.'s mistakes, or his parents ( by wanting to have kids).

Sigh.
1) He's not an idiot. Though he does sometimes do goofy things. Most of us do, too. I terribly disliked Clinton, but I ALWAYS gave him credit for being intelligent. That doesn't mean we can't laugh at the various "Bush-isms" though. I do. 2) It's might just be a publicity photo. The, erm, first take of a publicity photo. 3) At least he stands for what he thinks is right, as opposed to just doing what he thinks a majority of the people will let him get away with. But he knows he doesn't know everything, and has to rely on advisors. I'd be scared to death of a know-it-all President. 4) And no, I don't support everything Bush does. I happen to have serious problems with some of the civil rights that seem to be getting stepped on. But do you think that, say, Gore would have moved as quickly to bottle up Afghanistan? And the more time it took to move would mean more time for Al Queda to scatter.

It's the scattering of Al Quackers that I'm worried about... They don't know where anyone is anymore, and all they hear are rising reports of more and more violence... Maybe not all Al Qracker related, but certainly is enough to cause some fear... I'm not necessarily saying that everything was done wrong, But I'm certain the "Axis of Evil" statements have made any nations that might have plea-bargained for a better rap with the States in exchange for info shut themselves up right there and then... Oh yeah, I absolutely adore the Bush administration's Foreign Policy... "Why does everyone hate us now?" I believe I heard people on CNN saying when they released the results of that international poll?

Dammit, folks, there's a simple solution to all this.
Elect ME as the next President. I'll run on the 'I don't have a platform, you dipshits!" platform. I'll win. Yeah. |

The sad thing is, you prolly *could* win... And it wouldn't matter whether you're Democratic or Rebuclican... It's all the same.

It's interesting that this got bumped.
The reason is that my boss is Irish. He sees things from the European point of view, and he does make some valid points. The biggest point that he made about President Bush concerning terrorism is that he noted that while we were saying that we will hunt down the attackers, to the ends of the earth, everyone else was saying let's think this through and wait till our emotions are not influencing our decisions. He's got a point in terms of image. But my point is that we would not have been able to move against Al-Queda in Afghanistan had we waited around for a consensus. My boss also pointed out that the rest of the world did lose citizens on that day too. It wasn't just American grief and anger. My point was that the rest of the world didn't understand the depth of what we felt, regardless of who was killed. The way that I was trying to put it was that we've always felt safe here. Anyone that hurts us is some wacko American, not some wacko foreigner. Getting hurt was not the point, the point was that we've always felt that the only way to hurt us was to use planes, ships or space-based weapons. It was a similar feeling as if you got robbed, from your own house. It's a violation. It's different if someone steals from the store, than if they steal from your own home. |
