You'd think she'd be used to it by now.

Being anemic might be a problem... but it wouldn't affect how your body transmits nerve signals, which is regulated by the amount of sodium, potassium, calcium and water is in your nerve cells. At least that's what I can see from what I know of anemia. Get some iron! You take supplements, right? And whatever you do, do NOT try to touch your leg yourself. You will use muscles that affect the cramp, and you'll just make it worse. (Unless you are like me, and force yourself to move to stretch things out while hurting so bad you shed some tears.) Just bring your toes towards your knee, like Kit said. Let someone else stretch it out for you. That's the best way for a charlie horse. If it were your calves, quads, or hamstrings, you could do it yourself (with some pain from having to move). But a charlie horse requires someone else to do it proper. |

Supplements are soething that you can continue to take, to maintain a healthy level of whatever it is you're taking. If the body is healthy, and you're taking supplements, the exceess will be removed from the body naturally.

Unless it's an insoluble vitamin like vitamins a,d,e,k. They are metabolized by the body, not excreted. That just means that you have to watch it with how much you take. And I know that vitamin k will thin your blood.

Yep. On your thigh. On the outside. Sometimes on the rear or front, but always towards the outside.

Incidentally, I got the *WORST* type of muscle cramp ever.... one that I felt for days. You know that muscle under your chin? The one you use to suppress a yawn? Well, it decided to cramp up and I thought I was going to die because my mouth refused to open.

Ouch! I've sometimes been troubled by cramps in the calves, waking up in the middle of the night screaming in pain. I'm somewhat prone to cramps, it seems. It's been a while since the last one , though.
