It goes in your base folder Laur
do you guys have the D6 or the previous Dank sound pack? if not you might need this voicepack.vl2 which can be found on the downloads page http://www.thzclan.com/download put that in your base folder. |

...... or not..... Did you upload it to your own private area, or the public? I can't find it, that's why I'm asking.

I made an .exe version its dummy proof!
just get rid of everything you got from the vl2 smack version, make sure you delete base/scripts/autoexec/THZLoader.cs and Base/scripts/thzvoicepack.cs and anything you may have unziped then just run my .exe (as long as you installed to default) if you didnt install T2 to default make sure to adjust the path. |

#1 Where are the vl2 files suppose the extract to (they are not extracting on there own)
#2 How do we access the new sound files (you need a readme doc) I ran the exe file and I could not find the new sounds, so i looked to see if they had extracted, they had not, so i manually extracted them, still no luck |

Check it out.
never extract a .vl2 file. the game does it when you start it up the readme.doc is in the .vl2 so if you want to see the files and the readme just open the .vl2 but do not extract it. all the exe does is put the voicepack.vl2 and the THZ Smack Pack.vl2 in your base folder which is all you have to do to use the pack. after you run the .exe just start tribes thats it go to your warrior page and select THZ from the new selector that shows up next to your name. I can't stress this enough DO NOT UNZIP A VL2 FILE theres no reason to if you unziped it you have to find everything you unziped and delete it. I think the soundpack will not work if it is not executed as a .vl2 now the .exe doesnt really extract the vl2's it extracts them out of a folder i put them in to zip them and make an .exe. so after you run it you should have two new folders in your base folder and that is it. voicepack.vl2 and THZ Smack Pack.vl2 this is all you need to run the pack. if it doesnt work with just those two files in your base folder two things have happened. at one point you unziped the .vl2 OR you have a conflict with another script. (ie. PJ's scripts were a problem for most soundpacks because of his superchat. but he made it compatible with D6 models.) |

You <b>do</b> know that the vl2's are not going in the base folder right Jester? They are going in a folder GameData/base/THZ Smack Pack/*.vl2
Though it still works, its not a conventional install. You also have voicepack.vl2 in the THZ Smack.vl2 and extracted separately, need both? Last edited by Ghryphen; 07-25-2001 at 09:01 AM. |

Prolly dont need both but I didnt feel like repacking the smack pack.
yeah I did that so it will be easy to isolate the smack pack, should you need to delete it. |

Ya...you can open a vl2 in winzip and click on an item and hit delete.
Also Hudmover wont work as a vl2 inside a vl2 Early scripters put folders and scripts in the base folder, it is more common now to place custom scripts in the autoexec folder. ie. autoexec/thz smack/*.vl2 |

Yeah, the reason i didnt want to do that is if I have the .cs go directly in the autoexec and scripts, then If I update people have to maually delete them or overwrite them. I should repack the smack pack but I am too lazy
i know hudmover wont work but I was hoping people would figure that out and drag it outta the smak vl2 and into the base folder. I guess, I assumed to much. I will work on making this thing completely idiot proof this weekend. No offense to anyone in this thread. |

You dont put the cs in the autoexec folder, you put your smack folder there with the vl2 inside it.

You have to make it idiot proof from the beginning or else nobody will want to use it .
