Yikes is all i have to say to you Kit. So much for my puny spotlight. What i meant to say is that some ppl drag out a realtionship just for the sake of having one. So waht if it's prestigous to be in a relationship? If it means nothing and all you do is gripe about it, when why bother? I did NOT mean "look for ways to dump as soon as they pop up".

What I was saying was DIRECTLY to this... It is wrong to use someone for the sake of simply having someone to have sex with, or having someone to show off to your friends... Don't you get it? If you care for someone or say that you LOVE someone, then you should. Work things out and talk with your significant other rather than "using them" to just have a relationship. Until you can, you will continue to be depressed... and I'm sorry to anyone this might offend in the process, including and especially Laurelin... but MG, I have tried my best to redeem you in my view... but I do not see the value in a friendship with you... as it stands now... you are a leech and a depressing human being. You CAN change that... but I assume you will not. You are most likely aware of this already, and hearing it is hurting you. If this is news to you, then I suggest you find someone to talk to FAST... not about how depressed you are... but WHY you are depressed, and try to realize... that even though there are reasons to be depressed... You never have to accept them, or allow them to take over.

I have you figured out... There is someone close to you that you need to re-establish what your situation is with... He or She could be the answer you've been looking for, but you are unwilling to accept it because you are, in some way, happy with your depression... because it gives you power over people.

Ah geez, You know why I'm depressed? Because my life is slowly falling down the tubes. I cant stand it, I'd really like to talk right now, but I'm suffering from Caffeine overdose, and i can't think straight. I didn't mean to offend or target you mustsang, I just keep getting rejected, It makes me sad, but I can't really blame anyone but myself. I guess your right Kit, although most of your post doesnt make sense right now... i see what you mean and you are right. But, somethings not right, I'm not looking to gain from this depression, I just can't be happy with my self right now. Damn this OD, or else i could figure it out. I need to talk, I need to act, I just dont know how. I'm lost, and can't find myself in all this mess.

Lemme tell ya first I'm not a psychologist, so grab a big ol' barrel of salt and liberally season my words with the contents. I should also tell you that, for the most part, I'm a die-hard optimist.

That said, rejection isn't quite so bad. At the very least, you are getting rejected! There are some guys out there that bitch, whine, moan, and complain that they never pick up chicks, but they don't even go outside to do it in the first place. Be glad you are not one of them, and be glad that you have the cojones to actually approach and woman and get rejected.

Let me also say that finding the right woman is a search that can (and probably will) encompass years. There's a difference between finding someone and the one. Having just gotten finished (the wrong way) with a long engagement, I think I'm pretty qualified to state this.

Far from being a depressing point, you should think of this as a good point. Sure, it's gonna be years before you find the one. That doesn't mean you can't do other things in the meantime. Hell, the best way I know of to run into members of the opposite sex is to do those other things, instead of chasing skirts. What could those things be? Whatever, for all practical purposes--concerts, drag-racing, stump-pulling, volunteer work, damn near anything in the book. (Just stay away from the S&M, unless you like that kind of thing.

Let me just say that I have never found a girlfriend in a bar. Oh, I found a few women there, but no girlfriends. All the girlfriends came from those other activities. Hell, one time I met a nice woman at the freaking library where she worked. It didn't work out in the end, but it sure was a lot of fun.

And if you get rejected, try to find out why. Maybe what she tells you won't be something you want to change about yourself. That's all right. Just keep it in mind, and be aware that you probably shouldn't date people that will have a problem with whatever it was.
