Hey hey now! If you want quality equipment, you gots ta pay for it! Do you realize that Apple Computer controls both the hardware production and the operating system development for its computers? That means they can afford to throw out all the old legacy junk that no one uses, like parallel and serial ports. All that stuff is being replaced by USB, which is cheaper and more plug and playable. (yes, you *can* unplug a PS/2 keyboard or mouse while the PC is running, but watch what happens when you plug it back in!) Besides, throwing all the legacy stuff also removes bottlenecks and stuff from your computer. I have a firewire controller in this laptop! I bet that most of you don't have one in your PC, whereas Apple can put all kinds of nifty stuff in their computers. I guess it also depends on what u are looking for in a computer, I'm not looking for a 22 million transistor AMD Athlon to crank out my games on, I just want a NICE portable laptop, which most x86 laptops arent. Besides, you paid $200 for something with less than half the specs of mine. And it was used, that also decreases the cost of computers (although, when you think about it, most computer parts don't wear down like, say, car parts do. A 3 year old PC can still work just as good as it did 1 or 2 or 3 years ago.) Besides, my laptop looks stypish! Its such a gorgeous white-grey color, and the keyboard is white too, everything is white! It's so cool, I'm not regretting my decision one bit.
(PPS: on the other hand, I could have gotten a Powerbook Titanium G4, which is probably more powerfull than most of your desktops, but costs nearly $4000 CANADIAN, even with an educational discount, however, it kicks sooo much azz (including your bank account's azz) no matter how u look at it!)

You say computer parts dont wear down like car parts but they do, when a computer gets too old it can barely do what you want it to and so then that leads to having to get a new one .
Oh well we all prefer different things. One thing though WE CAN PLAY T2 AND YOU CANT!!! |

Tribes 2? I dont care about tribes 2 anymore. My drive for computer games was killed along with my friendship to a certain person (who will remain unnamed). Now, I just hang out with Niq and play Puzzle Fighter everyday, and someday, I might just beat him thru sheer skill rather than dumb luck. I just don't play computer games anymore. Here, I'll quote Ian McConville: In one comic, he (Ian) is playing an unnamed FPS *cough*GOLDENEYE*cough* on the N64 with a few friends of his. After complaining about poor level selection, bad visibility, awkward controls, and a 4-player maximum, he heads off to play "Unreal Tournament, a real man's deathmatch". After being off for a while, he storms back onto thew couch, complaining "If I could get my computer to recognize my video card, I wouldn't be heere right now!". Computers are just too much hassle whn you can have just as much fun on a console system. You just gotta beat your friends up 4 at a time, rather than 50 at a time...

If you're referring to me, I'm going to come over there and shove a playstation controller where it'll hurt the most.
But, if you're not... I love puzzle fighter. I just plain kick ass with it... I can even beat people with Dan, although it is *really* hard, because of the way his blocks drop...

HEY?! what about me?!
Me and MG had a deal so i could play T2,by selling his computer he has gone back on half of our deal! It was fun coming wit ya to UofT. Seeing all your friends from the Games Club and kicking their asses in Goldeneye. They occused me of camping (thier punishment to campers is a 3vs1 match agaist the accussed) I killed all three of them with the Magnum(auto aim was off) And died only once! They were so easy it was laughable! Although it was quite fun!

No, Laurelin, I'm not referring to you. ^^ It's a certain someone else, but thats another story. Anyhow... you mentioned the sacred game! YOU HAVE PUZZLE FIGHTER?!?!?!?!?!?!? MUST.......GET........PUZZLE......FIGHTER!!!!!!!!! Augh! It's the only game they ever play (well, then there's Smackdown 2, but wrestling's neither a game nor a sport so....), and therefore to earn my ane among the ranks of the elite, I must play puzzle fighter! But really, they just got a new DDR game and a DDR pad! Wai wai! We are planning to get another DDR pad soon too, then we will have a fake DDR arcade! yay! You know when N-chan and the others were playing DDR that one day... N-chan is amazing, but she is a mere speck in the sand when you see how Niq plays. He gets A+ rankings on the PARANOIA tracks! He's a DDR machine! Woah. Well, yah, we must get together and I will show off my leet Speed-5 Dan skills. I have crazy-ass skills! Ohh...we gotta play someday!

Well, the last and only time I've seen her play was that one time when we were all at Justin's house... y'know? I've seen other ppls play tho, so I guess my comparison is a little skewed. You know, if u two want to gome to gamez night at U of T, N-chan can bring her DDR pad and then we'll have two to play with! It will be soo cool! Anyhow, sorry 'bout that... guess I need to be more observant.... ok well wee u later!
