Good God... I was playing at the LAN at Kit's house on Friday... half of my games kept malfunctioning, and it wouldn't tell me why... most of the time the game would instantly quit out to the XP desktop... Strange, I thought, since these games were running perfectly fine on similarly powered comps. I was curious when I got home, since I remembered something about XP shutting programs down when CPU temperature gets too high, so I opened up my box to find out... the frame for the heatsink had come half-undone, causing the CPU to heat up, but not overheat. The reason why it came undone was because the bloody thing wouldn't go on in the first place... It took Kitz and I half-an-hour just to get it on in the first place... But, with a little bit of help from my screwdriver kit, I made short work of the loose clamp. Dammit, tho...... It sure was frustrating..
