The Silver Lining
Not sure if there is any old school Kings Quest fans here, but there has been a fan made successor in the works for some time now based on the torque gaming engine (tribes 2) and endorsed by Vivendi Universal. They recently released a tech demo, it is a bit buggy and pretty darn short, but they really captured the old school KQ 1-3 essence. The dry humor and game play is really pretty accurate.
http://www.tsl-game.com/trilogy/ As a note, don't bind the WASD keys to movement as I did initially, the camera isn't meant to move, like early KQ you should just have one view and you walk off the edge of the screen to go the next view. I don't think you actually have to bind any keys, but during setup I saw they were empty and filled em all in. Though, you can see some interesting things by moving the camera around. |
