Soldner
Just plunked down a $5 pre-buy at EB, for this game, which looks to have a large amount of playability, anyone else heard of it?
(from the same publishers, as sacred, http://soldner.jowood.com/ ) for those who don't like clicking here's a summary: Simulation of a highly complex diplomatic system which creates the dynamic campaign and missions Dynamic World Generation on the basis of digital satellite data with day/night cycle, weather and seasons Realistic virtual battlefield: the advanced terrain engine with the new destruction system (ADS - Advanced Destruction System), which even allows for simulated damage by tactical nuclear warheads Designed for Teamplay in Multiplayer: multitude team mission types and game elements for coordinated team action Dedicated Server support up to 32 players, up to 128 players on special servers of game providers Dynamic single player campaign with mission generator Realistic weapon systems from the research laboratories of the weapon industry SÖLDNER offers you a wide range of weapons. We call this the Soldier Weapon Systems (SWS). It introduces the basic equipment like pistols and guns but also goes into details with specialized items like sniper rifles, explosives and rocket launchers. The SWS will be updated with additional weapons on a weekly basis. „Soldner“ brings the player the most complex destruction system seen in a multiplayer game. What you see is what you can destroy – even online. In Söldner players are able to use a huge variety of vehicles for various roles in combat. We give our special attention to Chinese and Russian units first in the following updates. With the weekly updates we will inform you about tanks, helicopters, airplanes and other vehicles. Who ever wanted to shoot down a Mi-17 Helicopter from the sky with a T90-tank will be in good hands in Söldner. (currently the list of vehicles shows 44 playable vehicles) Söldner allows you to customize your characters. For the first time you can look cool without being limited to ready made full body skins. You can pick your helmet, face, jacket, trousers, boots, add some extras like sunglasses, tattoos, or backpacks and ready is your soldier : When we designed Söldner we knew we wanted one thing different on our soldier characters: being able to customize beyond "skins". Skins were the first level of modification many games allowed. The disadvantages of the skin system are: Skins can oftentimes only be seen by the client Skins are full body skins, details can't be modified easily Implementation of skin packs can be a pain CMM - Multiplayer in Söldner Welcome to our next feature of Söldner - CMM, or Customizable Multiplayer Modes. Söldner is designed to support Multiplayer (MP) fully. This means we had to integrate most common and popular MP modes into the game. As we listed all MP modes we found in other games we quickly came to the conclusion that most are based on basic common gameplay. Let me quickly explain: underlying all modes are basic Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch rules. Add on top these rules: Extract One team has to enter a location and extract something and bring it back to a specific location. Popular modes using extract: Assault, Hostage Rescue, VIP Assassination, Capture the Flag. Destroy Something has to be destroyed by one team, the other team needs to prevent this. Popular modes: Bomb Run Conquest One or more flags have to be conquered. Team score is modified depending on flags captured. As you can see most modes have one or more of those in common, are small modifications of them. This led us to the conclusion that we could let the user modify the rules of each multiplayer mode. Welcome to CMM. (now going over to xmen forums with a copy of this, ha Stang! at you puny nightfire spam!) NilKilla |
