Twas the Night Before Christmas

'Twas the Night Before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a tribesman was stirring, not even a mouse;
The spinfusors were loaded by the vehicle pad with care,
In hopes that a Juggernaut soon would be there;

The snipers were nestled all snug at their perks,
While visions of MA's danced around their HERCs;
And TW in her 'kerchief, and tJY in our cap,
Had just settled down for a long winter's nap,

When out on the o'erhead map there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the inventory station to see what was the matter.
Away to scout I flew like a flash,
Turned on the engines and I was off in a dash.

The MPB on the breast of the new-fallen snow
Blocked the view to the nestled flag below,
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a thundering rocket, and oh! a little flare,

With only a light, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment that I could snipe the little prick.
Faster than wildcats he jetted much the same,
And I whistled, and shouted, and called them by name;

"Now, Tanqueray! now, Poseidon! now, InViZ and Lark!
On, Mhaddy! on Vector! Com'on outta th'dark!
Get to your positions! Breach that hill!
Now jet away! jet away! jet away all!"

We flew like the wind, trying to get high,
We reached a slope and skiied through the sky,
So up to the clouds the coursers we flew,
With a HAVOC full of heavies, and a painter too.

And then, in an instant, I heard that awful beeping
The screeching and whaling of each missile'r a creeping.
As I steadied the HAVOC and swung the ship low,
On came the missiles that were ready to blow.

We survived the missiles but were badly hurt,
So we decided to continue our quest on foot;
Over the hills we soared with pride,
Cautious we crept... we were in for a helluva ride.

We spotted the first guard, how smug he stared!
On with the assault, in buddies we paired!
His crosshairs on our heads he aimed with care,
We geared forth and took up his dare;

A barrage of mortars from our guns we did shoot,
Obliterating him, we all shouted w00t;
More enemies came, but we did not stray,
Oh the wonderous smack-down we did lay.

Taking down turrets and sensors, all the same,
The enemies knew that we were game;
A sniper came forth, his red light shone bright,
I launched a mortar to his face and said "Good Night!";

We marched forth to the flag, we wanted it very bad,
Taking down red triangles, no troubles we had,
We were almost there when a Shrike was inbound,
Missiles were launched, only debris was to be found;

We sprang to the flag, but was given no crap,
And away we all flew back to our base to cap.
We touched down from a triumphant flight,
"HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO ALL, AND TO ALL A GOOD-NIGHT!"
