We like (or I should say Gryhon) to go to the last showings of the night so there is a low crowd so driving 45 mins to go to a movie just isnt appealing to me. Then having to drive home again after the movie at 12am, nah. And the ones in Lynnwood are like the ones here in Everott.
I can live thru the sound they just need to improve it with the ticket prices going up. Or we will only go to movies that truely appeal to us and we cant live without. |

How many of us here buy concessions at the theatres? That is the revenue for the theatre. I know I've said it before, but its the honest truth. Every red cent you pay for a ticket goes to the movie company, and the Theatres have to exist on the few people who do buy concessions, hence the "commercials" at the beginning of the previews. I know it sucks, so I just don't go to movies that often. The Last one I saw was Drumline. I paid $7.50 for a late showing, and it was, IMO worth the ticket price. Would I go see that movie in the theatre again? No, probably not, but I will buy it on DVD.
I know the theatre is all about the effect of good sound, and true to life pictures, and that goes along with the suspension of disbelief and all, but most of us have a DVD player, and it'd actually be cheaper for us to wait till it comes out on DVD, Buy it, and then throw it away after you were done watching it when you want to go to the theatre. I mean hell, Wal-Mart knocks off 3-5 dollars off the normal prices of the more popular DVD's even on release day. Like when Lilo and Stitch came out on DVD, it was $13.98 on release day. Now, Disney has a nasty habit of selling their DVDs for more than that everywhere else, because it's Disney, but hey- I got it cheaper, and that makes me happy. Especially since it's such a good movie.

Yeah, once the concessions went over the prices you'd find in a convenience store or something, it wasn't worth it any more. Though every once in a great while I'll succumb and buy a tub of popcorn and a drink, just because I'm in the mood for it.
Of course, like any sane person, I don't eat or drink anything when I go to see a LOTR moving. |

Funny the way theators have gotten in recent years, I don't even go and see movies any more. I saw Ep. 2 in the theator but I don't even remember the last movie I saw before that. I have no intention of going to se LOTR even though my family is going tonight I can wait for another 3 months and sit in my own home and watch it.
Most people can name 10 to 20 movies and I haven't seen any of them. I just don't like movies. Does that make me lame or jsut a rebel aginst the giant media machine

We buy popcorn, candy and pop when we go. You just can't match the greasy health hazard popcorn at home. Candy we get even though it is expensive, just cause we are at the counter, and the pop, well you need to wash down the popcorn and candy

I don't go see movies all that often, and when I do, I subsist on the peppermints and candy I keep in my purse. I don't drink things at the movies, ever. I always end up needing to go out if I do, or spill it as well. Not worth that, if I'm going to spend money on the tix, I'm going to stay in there thru the movie.

It sure is fun to throw those 10-cents-a-skittle bag of skittles, one skittle at a time, at people that won't shutup.
Then "accidentally" spilling your 5 dollar drink all down the front of their shirts. Oops! Hehehehe. |

Oh thats such a great idea Asha
I think that since the prices have gone up and seeing the no good slection of candy now at the theatre Ill sneek my own stach in from now on. But Ill buy the popcorn and pop though, Im a popcorn freak! Like when we went to the Two Towers with Jester and Jode last week. Jode was asking Jester were the pop she brought, at the store, and he didnt know so we figured it rolled down to the front of the theatre. Never found it so they had to go buy one . And came back with some ice crea too . |
