bloody 1 cent pieces
ok, just came back from the local ebgames, put down $164 on pre-orders for Tribes: Vengeance, DOOM3 and Half Life 2, got a cool little pewter figurine of the pinkydemon from the original doom, very cool, and mostly free, i traded in a crapload of old pc games i dont play anymore as well as the $90 i got from a coinstar machine after cashing in the sock full of spare change i've been collecting for the past couple years, anyhow it turns out i had 530 1 cent pieces in there, which comes up to a mere $5, the other coins came up to $85, problem was that half the damn coins in the sock were coppers
1 cent coins are the most useless crap ever, the posess no real monetary value whatsoever, and their weight is incredible, hell a coin a lot smaller has 10 times the value, 1 cent coins exist so that bloody retailers can attempt to fool you by reducing the price of someething by 1 cent and they're like wow, its $49.99, damnit, they're not fooling anyone there, especially when after tax it rings up to $54.11

Actually it fools a lot of people. I worked retail and was told about all that crap... and yes $399.99 people say "Wow, it's only $300" and when it rings up to something past $400 then they just shove their foot in their mouths and pretend they already knew that's how expensive it would be... people's pride is amazing, it will make them spend a lot of money. Retail is trying to make money, so be smart and you'll avoid the tricks... But I used to love selling someone a $2000 computer only becasue they thought of it as "1000" because of the one cent price reduction.

You should see the bulge in my Mom's purse from all the pennies she has. Her purse is her own weight training .

Have any of you thought of cashing in these so called mountains of pennies? are you aware they are representative of money? I keep all my change in a jar, I dump it in at the end of every day... every month or so I have over $100 in it... MOstly pennies and dimes and quaters although up here in canada we also got dollar and two dollar coins, so that helps... but I'm sure the same principle would work with american coinage
