It probably was a dummy of a cat as soon as it batted at that thing. You'll notice a tiny inconsistency in the video at that point where they smoothed it out with (probably) CGI. Then, after the dummy cat is thrown against the wall, it could be replaced again with the real cat.
But yes, it was funny.
