Default Further thoughts on culture - proverbs

In a spree of inspiration, I have decided to share with you (and indeed be introduced to your local flora of) proverbs. So I'll start by trying to translate a few Swedish proverbs for you:

"One should not sell the pelt, until the bear has been shot."
(Man skall inte sälja pälsen förrän björnen är skjuten.)

In plain: Don't make a promise you can't keep.

"One should not cross the river for water."
(Man skall inte gå över bäcken efter vatten.)

In plain: Avoid going to unnecessary lengths to achieve your goals.

"That which is not in one's head, must be in one's legs."
(Det man inte har i huvudet får man ha i benen.)

In plain: If you're not smart, you'll need to be fast. (A fact which indeed applies very well to Tribes, I'd say. "What can't be found in one's head, must be in one's jetpack", anyone? )

Now I've done my part, I'd like you to let me take part of your indigenous offering of sage words...
