My dog is sick
And I'm grumpy. >: Bo is 14 and has arthritis and possibly an ulcer. He also has developed a tumor and it may be cancerous.
|
aww i'm really sorry to hear that :( Are there any options for surgery?
|
Sorry to hear that Rogue :(
|
Aww poor guy :(. Sorry to hear that.
|
I don't know what the options are at this point. There is an enlargment in an (ahem) delicate area as well as a lump on the spine. If both are due to cancer (and we haven't done a biopsy yet, so it may not be malignancy) then we may not want to go with agressive treatment. As I said, Bo is 14, he's had a good long life. I don't like the idea of trying to treat him agressively if that is only going to prolong suffering.

"Perianal gland tumors primarily affect male dogs. They arise in the anal area; most are benign but can cause pain and get infected." Sounds kind of like what you described. The good news is, it looks like from the information on that site that most of this is treatable. But I do understand how you feel about invasive surgery. Having Bo checked out might turn up something hopeful tho :) |
That's nice of you Raiy.:) However Bo died in his sleep last night, very peacefully, so I'm afraid it's beside the point now. :(

oh god i'm so sorry X *big hugs* i'm so sorry, my thoughts are with you
|
Thanks, guys. We had him 10 years of his 14 and he was a good faithful dog. I'm very grateful he didn't suffer, and he died at home instead of in the vet's office. (we have a very nice vet, but it's not the same of course. )

Sorry to hear Rogue but sounds like he was a very happy and loved dog.
Our family dog passed away from kidney failure a few months back and was about Bo's age. He too died at home and glad someone was there when he did. Now he sits happily on the fireplace with the other passed animals until we free them together sometime. Again sorry for your lose but remember all the good times you all had with him and never forget. |
I won't. :)

|
awww ;_;
I'm sorry to hear this, Rogue :( I bet the kids are devastated. |
They're pretty sad, and so am I. Kidlets don't remember *not* having him...it all happened so fast too. At least he didn't suffer.
