And I varified it cuz I didn't believe it.... I reversed my own copy of Stairway and it yielded the same result!!!

**Edit: I might also add that this is the only part of the lyrics that never made sense to me... they're non-sensicle when put in context with the rest of the song... maybe this is why... maybe it's intentional. I think it's too ironic not to be, actually.

Lots of bands around then did backmasking with Satan messages, because they wanted the press attention, and they thought the attention would get kids to buy their albums. Just "part of the show." I'm sure there really were some bands containing Satan worshippers, but whether they did it for commercial gain or other reasons, it's still something to avoid.

Yeah, I get that Gambit... I just never thought it was in Led Zepplin, I love those guys... Now I"m a little weary about what effect such a thing might have had on me. Not that I'm a big believer in BACKWARDS subliminal messaging (if I couldn't understand it, how could I get a message out of it?) but that kinda spooks me out. It saddens me.

Kitz, Michael Jackson, ELO and the EAGLES did it, why would you not expect it from Zepplin?

I think comparing Zepplin to "angels of light" or "apostles of Christ" is hardly appropriate, but the point is that Satan can look awfully appealing if you're not really on your guard.

Zeppelin owns, one of the best bands ever, i mostly listen to old stuff, zeppelin, iron maiden, black sabbath, eagles etc.

one of zeppelin's quirks is that regularly in live versions of thier songs the singer will just burst out with that line for no reason, sometimes followed by "till the juice runs down my leg

Okay, now that I"m sure, that there are zepplin fans here.
My friend always told me, that you could tell that Led Zepplin, had made a deal, with the devil, because everyone knows every member of the band. BUT, that the drummer didn't get in on the deal, and no one can remember his name. Now without looking at an album, or search engine, site, or any other media, what was the drummer's name?

I don't know any of them except Plant. And that's OK with me; I'm not a Zepp fan at all. :)
