Have you guys seen this?........

What would have happened if Dr. Seuss had written LOTR???

"Gandalf, Gandalf! Take the ring!
I am too small to carry this thing!"

"I can not, will not hold the One.
You have a slim chance, but I have none.
I will not take it on a boat,
I will not take it across a moat.
I cannot take it under Moria,
that's one thing I can't do for ya.
I would not bring it into Mordor,
I would not make it to the border."

-excerpt from Dr. Suess's LOTR.

:lol :lol

Ghryphen 01-09-2003 09:40 PM

Cerberus 01-10-2003 10:02 AM

Thats because Gandalf already has something else.

XRogue 01-10-2003 11:44 AM

Heh, quit spoiling them, Jester. Besides, that's not even the whole reason he wouldn't take the One.

Funny, Jode. :D

Stang 01-10-2003 03:28 PM

Aluscia 01-11-2003 05:54 AM

He didn't take the one because he feared it would corrupt him, much in the same way Galadriel wouldn't take the one. (Any other reason is hear-say :P )

Cerberus 01-11-2003 06:53 AM

HEH, thats funny because Galadriel also has something else.. But the reason she wouldn't take it relates to her past. It was a test for her, before she could go back into the west.

XRogue 01-11-2003 07:17 AM

I toldja to quit spoiling them, Jesterpoo. :twak: :glob:

Besides, all we need to do is have a Tolkien argument in here, we'll be declared geeks for the rest of our lives just because nobody will know what we are babbling about. And you and Laurelin are both right anyway. :b

Ghryphen 01-11-2003 11:05 AM

what are you babbling about

Spinning Hat 01-11-2003 11:42 AM

And you guys ARE geeks. :lol

XRogue 01-11-2003 12:10 PM

We like being geeks, thank U. :D

Jode 01-12-2003 04:41 PM

:redbounce

Ya it was supposed to be funny! ;)

Xenocidez66 01-13-2003 02:15 PM

It was funny. Just one thing though. If you can sit and come up with something like that you must get a hobbie, because some one has WAY to much time on their hands.

XRogue 01-13-2003 06:50 PM

:lol LoTR is our hobby, Xeno. O'course I have a number of others, such as Star Trek and needlework as well as 2 kids. I am a creative person in a number of respects. :D

Stang 01-13-2003 09:44 PM

Speaking of needle point, Gryphons mom got me a little needle point thing to work on. I opened it up and was like "wth? How do you do this?"

So might be asking you some questions :D.

XRogue 01-14-2003 10:01 AM

:2lol: Fair enough. :hug

Xenocidez66 01-15-2003 01:53 AM

Sorry XRogue no offence intended. I just never imagined LOTR being a hobbie. Sorry. I have 2 kids as well so I can understand that. I had to bake cookies yesterday or he was going to drive me loony. Mybey its me that needs a hobbie.

XRogue 01-15-2003 04:21 PM

You didn't offend me whatever, Xeno, please don't think you have to apologize. I'm sorry, I'm told I tend to sound a little stiff, I didn't mean to grate on your overstrained nerves. Believe me, I understand about the cookies. And if you can cook, I'd say you've got one hobby right there!

Xenocidez66 01-16-2003 01:47 AM

I am a great cook. Just ask me I will tell you. I love to cook and I get to cook some of the neatest things here in Iceland. Alot of the things that I cook here you can't find in the US in any form because its an Icelandic thing. Although not all Icelandic food is good. The shark that they call a traditional food is so nasty. When the package is opened it makes the hole house stink.

I don't think that your stiff but I wasn't sure that you may or may not have taken it the wrong way. As for my over strained nerves you didn't get them.

Walks on Clouds 01-16-2003 07:06 AM

You're talking about the rotten shark, right? Quite disgusting really... :shifty

Talking about geeks, here's something for any roleplaying gamers out there. It's a true story, taking place not long ago in a suburb somewhere here in Sweden, can't remember where.

A neighbour calls the police claiming to have seen several people waving handguns at each other in an apartment across the street. Naturally the police reacts forcefully and within minutes a SWAT-equivalent team is on its way, kevlar suits, helmets, submachine guns, the whole kit.

Once they get there a quick look through the mailbox confirms the neighbour's story, so without further ado they break down the door and barge in on the baffled perpetrators in dramatic fashion. After a few frantic moments the situation is under control and the juvenile delinquents are unarmed.

Fact is however, that the young "criminals" in question and their "victims" had been playing Vampire (the Masquerade, RPG) live, happily uncaring and unknowing about their neighbour's reactions. It seems they were playing out a sort of hostage scene using life-like soft airguns.

This event has led the to police posting an official warning not to go to such extremes as this when playing live action roleplaying games where innocent bystanders can misinterpret what they see.

You would do best to remember this when waving guns in your buddies' faces in friendly fashion.
:nono :s0005: :mg: :twak:

Gambit 01-16-2003 08:51 AM

(waving homemade model disclauncher)

"EAT DISC, YOU BASTAGE!! MY FLAG!!"

:lol

Walks on Clouds 01-16-2003 09:19 AM

:2lol: Hehehe:lol

Ambush_Bug 01-16-2003 09:31 AM

Well, I guess I'd better stop the work I've put into a real live hardshell, then. :)

Stang 01-16-2003 03:53 PM

What is that guy doing looking into other peoples apartments? They should look into his record :).

Damn guess I have to take down all the construction I was building in the backyard for this summer to have a roleplaying of T2 :ray: .
