And beat someone over the head with it. Cox Communications (An appropriate name for that company) decided they did not need to be part of the @home network and could go it alone. . .well now everyone of their customers has experience the joy of "Always off fast internet connection." Some of the large cities have there stuff working now, but me. . .I still get, to quote the level 2 Tec support lady, "intermittent massive packet loss." What does that mean. . .I can get to web pages about 75% of the time, but anything that takes longer then 5 mins will fail or i will loss connection too. That means no online games for me! Now I could handle it last week. It was the first week of school. I was busy trying to find classes and make sure I had my credit card paid off. Now, however, I am into my pattern for the rest of the semester. . . .and they have had a ******* WEEK to get their **** straight. I stayed on hold for 4 hours over (they play the same enya song over and over and over again until you think your brain is going to melt and run out your ears.) and now, thank God because i am the only person out of my friends to get this, a truck is going to come to my house and fix it up nice. . .but not until Sunday.

I feel for you Delukus, my provider has been hit with a worm which keeps crashing their system. It only lasts a few hours to get it basck but its very frustrating.. Small potatoes compared to your situation..:(

For the people interested in this on going saga:

The tech guy came out to my house. The tested the signal at my house, drove around to the block, checked the signal at the "tap", found the problem was at the tap too, called up someone, and told me he could not fix my problem as it was an area wide problem. So I am SOL till they find a way to find their butts with thier hands.

Anyway, I did not beat him with the cable modem. He seemed to be suffering more then I was and looked like someone had already worked him over.

See someone did it for ya :D

yea when @home bit the big one, it tooka LOT of people with it.
my friends that had comcast, were living in pure customer service hell for about a week, when comcast finally caught on...
now they're talking some major improvements, we'll see....our Capt, NetRat, is still getting bit by it, like last practice, it kept dropping him every 5 minutes...which makes it a pain
