Okay, I'm not a full member yet but that doesn't mean you shouldn't at least read this whole post. It may be long... but I haven't even started yet.. So we will see.

If you have spoken to me in our IRC room, you already know that I have been in the clan-running business for a while now. No, I'm not bragging, but I do know how to properly coordinate a clan's efforts towards the primary objective: Winning.
Although I am fairly new to Tribes2, the basic tactics are the same for every game. From online chess to Counter-Strike, basic strategic and diplomatic rules apply. I'm not about to get into clan politics right now, but that is sure to come in a later post.

*First of all, I don't see a "set" practice time. Unless it is posted somewhere else, I don't think we have one. If we do, I can stop now and you can "simply" update your calendar.

*I know we aren't really into the hardcore competition yet, but it is always good to be ready for when it comes. Regular practices and meetings can get us into habit. Regardless of what game we play, practice does make perfect. Those who do it more, are better than those who don't.

If I sound repetitive, keep reading! We need to coordinate our efforts, take initiative and go for the gold. Although you may not see the light right now, you will later on when we start competing. If we practice on a regular "Once-A-Week" basis, we will be able to get into the cool stuff like special ops and other such things. (I know I'm new, but I am seeing massive potential for real-time strategies and tactics to enable us to fight like true team warriors.)

Tribes2 is a team-combat game. Team-Combat is what you see. For those of you who go into frequent dueling games I will break it down. "Team" - I'm not a dictionary, but this does stand for several things. "Together", "Effort", "Agility" and "Movement". You all know what combat is, regardless of what game-type you play.

In order to play Tribes2 the way it was meant to be played, we must practice as a team. During practices we would utilize all the aspects of team Tribes2. We will turn ourselves into the perfect fighting machines, and we will also become even closer than we already are. A close unit, is a strong unit. If we can work well together as a team, we will triple our fighting power.

I also suggest we make an in-game only ranking system. Just so we all know what our jobs are and who directs who. I suggest standard US Army ranks for simplicity. Of course ranks would only be for the game, because sometimes people can pull rank and.. well, completely ruin relationships. Some of you may already know what I mean, others wont until they have to face that problem themselves.

Before this gets too long to post or check for spelling errors, I will stop now. All suggestions are welcome because this isn't my forum, but it is a free country. (Both Canada and the United States of "NORTH" America)

Just one more suggestion for meeting times. Every Sunday at 9:00pm Eastern Standard Time (2100). That seems to be the "standard" for most units of most games. Any time on Sunday is fine for me, but that would be great for all of us.. I hope.

Well, cya all on IRC.

Ravenheart out.

Practices are every sunday @ 530 PST and wednesday at 6 PST
the admins usually have a meeting once a week to discuss goals and what they want accomplished during practice.

oops forgot- its important to remember that THZ* is first a TRibe
by that I mean a family, our first goal is not competition, but friendship. When the tribe is ready we will compete for fun. I believe we have a scrim coming up soon.

Friendship is important? Wow, I never would have known. *sarcasm*

They should post meet times just so we all know. I dont enjoy being made a fool, so I will just shut my trap before I get into any real trouble.

To address a few of your valid points:

A. Yes, we have set practice times. Yes, the calendar is out of date, practices used to be on there and I'm not sure why they aren't now. Practice is at 6:30PST Wednesdays (9:30EST) and 5:30PST Sundays (8:30EST). We meet in IRC 15-30 minutes before every practice to discuss the tactics we will be working on and which server we will be using as well as any passwords needed. Including a once per month meeting that takes place during a regular practice time in IRC without actual game play to discuss the clan, where it's headed, competition, roster... etc.

B. We do have a ranking system in game. The ranks used to be on the old roster list, but with the new list being automaticially maintained by software by the information entered by the user, it's hard to add rank with the person actually putting it in to begin with, and you can see the obvious problem if that were the case.

Ranks and Titles:

Gryphon: Team Captain (Head Cheese)

Mustang "Stang": Offensive Captain (If you're on O, what she says goes.)

Gryphon: Defensive Captain (duel leadership, We actually had another but he quit, and we currently have some that would be better for the position, but they aren't as active as they need to be to be effective in the role.)

Kitzune: Recruiting Officer (Impress her and you're in!)

Laurelin: Roster Organizer (Impress her and... well... she'll be impressed)

Dynomutt (Me!): Energy Booster, voice of reason (Any personal problems, and you want some bad advice but be in a better mood when it's all over, come to me!)

Stormdancer: Mascott (Nothing special about him :D)

I agree with Raven. We "do" have a ranking system, but the real question is: Is it enforced? Whenever there's a practice, people just sorta do whatever. I think we should make more use of the Command Circuit, and use it for what it's meant. Think of it like an RTS. Each team would pick O and D persons, then the captains would tell those ppl what to do or what to guard. If we had more control over people then things would get done pretty quickly. Besides, if your in the middle of combat, you dont check your map to see if your sensors are online. That is the job of the captains. To stay at the base and direct the operations of the people outside it. Hell, they can guard the gens or something. Do you see where I'm going with this? (PS: I think Sirus gave me this idea a long time ago.) We should try it sometime.

This is not the place to discuss this, this is something that is dicussed in private, so if you want to talk to us about this more lets go into IRC and do it there.

We will get into competing but for now we are seeing how practices work out for everyone that way we can accommidiate everyone so they can show. We have come along way and plan to hopefully go farther. We are getting more recruits and that is helping too. When we do get out and start competing we will not be doing it to just Win, to me thats just selfish, and if your into competing just to win then THZ isnt for you (that is meant for anyone). I want my team to go out there and have a good time and if we do win well then thats an added bonus. I personally know what wanting to win and then lossing can do to you and friends and loved ones around you (me and BJ dont get along if we are on opposite teams :) ).

What you have said Ravenheart has been discussed, to death, between us all in our meetings and we know where we want and are going even if it is taking some time, but still we have come far. Just remember though that our RL (Real Lives) come first around here Raven, just for future reference :). And we are a huge family here, we share EVERYTHING ;).

Sorry about the calendar we have been really busy around here lately with other things.

So if you have anything else that you want addressed I would appriecate it if you would discuss it in IRC rather than in here, THANKS :D .

Mustang has a good point that I over looked, things that are THZ spacific should remain in IRC with THZ only or in the member only section of the forums... the general sections of the forums are for just that, general issues and conversation.

I appologise for discussing team matters in here.

It is nice to know that you have a deep interest in how THZ works before you are a full member and it's good to ask questions, but like mustang said, these things should remain within THZ unless it's general information that helps everyone.
