View Full Version : Where I've been/What I've been doing...

.... Hi guys.

I've been sort of MIA for a while... I kept the forums as my home page all this while, just waiting for the opportunity to say something, or the energy...

I just finished a year of schooling in the Network Security field. While I was completing some requisite (but boring) coursework at the end of my program regarding employment and interview skills, I was hired for a short-term contract at a little steel-production company as a Tier1/Tier2 Help Desk analyst... I also do Network Admin, Network Security, and some coding (lol)... So my prof ended up exempting me from the course, and I am off to work every morning about 20 minutes away from where I live.

I was playing WOW until recently. I gave it up partly because it was getting boring... and partly because I'm giving the LOTRO alpha/beta a little more of my time. I'll also be working my way through FFXII soon as well. I still live at home, although I killed my shitbox for a van (435000 km baby, woo). My dad decided to get a little 2006 Saturn Ion-2. I like it, but I can't wait until I have something permanent for a job so I can move out. I'm stll as gay as ever, and still as single :/

Sorry for getting out of touch... It's just one of those "get busy with life and not expend the energ to keep up" kind of situations... hopefully, there's still room for a bitch like me around here >_> <_<

Can't imagine why you'd be bored with WOW - your xfire account sig says you've put in almost 3300 hours! *boggle*

I missed you too! By the way, our game is lookin shweet! the NDA is still in effect, but I can say this much... it's true enough to Tolkien, while having enough freedom to tell its own story. There's even an example of a conversation you have where the Dunedain you're speaking to uses the word "connexion"... talk about Tolkienism!

The magic windows calculator says that's around 137.5 collective days of WOW, assuming xFire was on at all times. Assuming I got 8 hours of sleep every night in the last calendar year, you still spent more time on WOW.

There's something dangerous about that equation, and I don't think it's that I need more sleep ;P

Maybe Alu's got a farming bot?

A GOLD farming bot?

Or maybe a gold-farming bot?

One way or t'other, a robot made of gold would be pretty sweet. PIMP MY DROID!

Threepio, if you think that's Master Luke, it would seem one of us needs his optical sensors calibrated.

oh dear.... As for your question, I just played far too much... 10 hour raids on Blackwing and Ahn'Qiraj ftl.

You're one to talk about optical sensors, Professor. :p

10 hour raids? Is that typical?

And I thought spending 4 hours in MC was long. I couldn't do 10 ouch.

Rogue instance runs usually can eat up majority of a day the harder they are, yucky.

Yeah, and if you're "learning" the place, it can be very tough indeed.

Lord of the Rings Online is certainly interesting, and actually fun to play in smaller chunks if you like. I've gone for marathon sessions, but I've also just plugged away at something for an hour or two and left it.

I could do that. :)
