Tonight me and a few friends went to Red Robin for a shake and free fries (best trick in the book) And it had been my 2nd visit since last weekend. A waitress that saw me the last time I was there and had talked to me stopped by my table (again). I was getting the aura she liked me. In the background what as playing you might ask out of curiosity? A jeopardy episode with a gaming section. And again out of curiosity you might as well as what was on the TV screen at that moment? A movie of someone playing everquest. I of course freaked out and yelled "Everquest!" and made some comment about how the dragon they showed looked more like a balloon animals due to low pixel use. When I turned back to the table where my gamer friends were sitting, there jaws were on the table. In my ADD gaming fit, the pretty girl that was talking to me took it as a sign of un-interest and walked away.

Now whenever someone does something stupid involving the opposite sex they will of course yell "Everquest!!".

I thought it was a horrible yet good learning experience.

If she was worth talking to she would of course have known what everquest was and commented.

Damn you Alex Trebek.

Heh. Well, you coulda stuck one of those free fries up your nose while talking to her. Been known to happen.

;)

In somewhat-related news, the men's and women's tourney winners at this year's QuakeCon happen to be married to each other and celebrating their anniversary. They met at... QuakeCon!

Nice job, i've done that with the trivia games on the TV in bars ;)
Thankfully, my wifey-to-be doesn't mind me breaking out in random game chatter. I think we met while I was complaining about WoW server load, and i was met with a beautiful, honest, blank stare. :p

Classic Drea-to-Raiyven moment of gameitude:

D: "Hon, what's this thing?"
R: "That's an Atari 2600; an integral part of my inner child!"
D: "A what?"
R: "....I cant marry you."

I'm workin on her ;)
