bwahaha, the world's end is nigh, the plauge of hurricanes, a meteor was supposed to strike today and wipe out all life, and the ash from the volcano will consume the survivors and everyone is gonna die, bwahaha.................................except for me...............and the reasonably attractive women............. yea................yak can live too, his shaggy coat'll protect him........................?

say, that's a mighty good excuse for you to come down to texas for the lan party, cataclysmic destruction and all that, fleee, flee the volcano to the land of barbecue and gaming.............but then again it's pretty much the same amount of heat in texas, but at least you'll die happy

Mt. Rainier?

I've gone to the glaciers. They're fun!

Funny thing is... there's not much left of Mt. St. Helens to blow.

If it blew like it did many years ago it would do something even if it couldn't blow anything else :). Or make some good mud slides again.

The asteroid wasn't supposed to come closer than a million miles or so. Four times farther than the moon.

I wasn't too worried about this one. It's the ones you DON'T see coming...

CBS Stream http://video.cgi.cbsnews.com/video/video.pl?url=/broadcast/*/livenews1.wmv&sid=500251 (boring just showing a quiet mountain)

My Natural Disasters teacher used to get a raging hard on whenever a distaster would happen... especially if it killed people... the more people it killed the more excited he would be telling us all about it the next day.

I hope the thing blows in daylight so we can get good high quality shots of it like it did 19 years ago. BUT- There's another issue I have with this damn thing, and that Volcanic ash is a serious hazard in aviation operations, and I work at the Minneapolis Airport, and that kind of thing would really really suck to have to deal with, and lots of flights getting cancelled because of the ash, etc.... I don't really want to have to deal with all that shiznit. :(

They say it won't get that bad. It will be a big explosion but nothing compared to in 1980. Lets hope they are right and the mountain doesnt change her mind :). Had a good steam explosion today with a good amount of ash. Light traces of ash to the Northeast. At this writing its having another episode good amount of steam coming out almost hiding the mountain.

I wanna go over there and get a closer look :D.
