I've been fishing around the net for something decent to play for the past few days, and this morning I found Conquer (http://www.conqueronline.com). Its quite a bit like Diablo, only more fantasy based and with a Chinese twist. Its free to download, free to play, I'm downloading the client now. Its 502 megs or so, but their servers are a bit slow and instead of my normal 300 kbps I'm only getting about 70. Check it out if you don't have any other games eating up your time. I'm going to be playing as an Archer, as I have a fondess for stabbing people with pointy things from a great distance.
I'd join but busy with FFXI

I like the graphics, reminds me of Kings Quest. Pistontale (http://eng.pristontale.com/) is still free mmorpg I think. If I wasn't playing 12 hours of SWG a day I would join you Var.
BTW, if the link in Variables post does not work, there might be one in the google ad, *wink* At least when I viewed the thread there was. :lol

I'd join but Chronicle 1 just came out for Lineage 2, and I'm re-addicted.

Wow. One of the other games in the Google ad is GemStone IV. I played this text game over ten years ago when it was on AOL. Of course, it wasn't version IV... I think I still have some maps, manuals and stuff I printed out for it.

I really want to get into this, but I know it's gonna distract me from things I REALLY need to be doing. The tragedy!

Actually, I dropped this the second I bought City of Heroes. Its a fun game, but CoH has just devoured my time.
Also, it won't uninstall itself. You go to add/remove programs, click uninstall, it says its done, and everything is still there, in working order.

Man, everyone and his brother seems to be getting into City of Heroes. I'd love to as well, but the day I can afford a $14.95USD monthly fee will be the day hell freezes over.
Better taking my chances with a crazy uninstallable game ;)

Well, enjoy. It was really fun while I was still playing it, and I'd only scratched the surface.
In fact, if you want a head start, I can give you my account info and you can start out an Archer at level 15 or so. The miserable part of starting a new archer is that you can't actually get a bow till level 8, which makes for a long time of hacking at monsters with weapons you're not skilled with.
Though the Mages did look really cool too.
