very very nice kit, got the 3dmax model of the medium armor and all the psp files for the skins
though i have no farking idea how to use 3dmax, i'll go see what i can teach myself about texturing at least
expect a practice render of a re-coloured THZ armor soon

ok, put in a good few hours on this and i've finished the re-coloring of the body, put the logo on shoulderpads and chest and bump mapped the logo to make it look 3d as well as put the slogan on the arm, but did'nt realize it gets mirrored, fix it later, sleep now
head still needs to be done, but here are the renders done on my computer, just sharing them with you
#1: render of the initial model i was given
#2: render with the logos gone
#3: re-colored skin with logos

Looking good. The green needs to be a bit darker imho. More like what you had in your recolor. The lighting on the logo looks a bit out of place and doesn't seem to carry the texture of what is behind it on the chest plate.
That is really cool though, I am going to have to install 3dmax and compete with you :D
The T2 ones were based on the blood eagle skins, so they head a red base which probably filtered through into the green.
We should also think of what the main tribe will be for us. I know that there is only a Phoenix kit right now, but I think eventually our main should be the blood eagle. The angular features of their armor along with the talons on the feet of the heavy make for a good THZ theme. Though of course we will need skins for each set :D
This makes me want to finish the weapon skins for T2 and redo the T1 skins in green and gold :lol
edit*
Hmm, even as I re-look at your previous skin I think the green still needs work, like a hint of blue. I will see if I can dig up my old number scribblings. We don't have to match it exactly, though I would just like to have consistency :D
I am a needy pita :lol

hehe, looking over it now i can see the bump mapping is a bit off from the logo, and i think i'll bump map it outward rather than inward and make it a bit more transparent, of course the text on the arm is messed up still, as for the color, i used the exact same numbers i did for the blood eagle re-color but it seems to react differently to the yellow of the phoenix, i'll tweak about and see what i can muster
i agree, we should use the blood eagle models, fits us much better, this'll just be a practice run
for the competition i was thinking of something dragon-like, some gold detailing around the edges and scale-mail armor
exact colorings would be great, i'll tweak it about and see what i come up with

Okay... I gotta ask. Can you both help me install 3dmax? Or maybe Maya? :D
Install as in... helping me find an installation? ;)
isn't the free version of maya, maya PLE, just as good, w/o being able to sell anything you make on it?
