I'll tell you why! I have not been able to play Tribes2 since friday because she wants attention.

That's what the weekends are for, but now that it is summer I cannot get away from her. I just got the D&D Forgotten Realms book, maybe I can put that in hands and she will leave me alone for the 5 hours it will take her to read it. AHHHH!

However, that RPG has kicked the digital bucket due to the DM's lack or motivation. It was pretty cool while it lasted. In any case, what I'm trying to say is that my girlfriend rocks.

Girlfriends only suck when you allow them to suck... and I do not mean that you should pimp slap them when they get out of line.. I mean that you have to have a good perspective on what "out of line" is. My girlfriend tends to be a... RANDOM person and acts the way she wants... but I absolutely LOVE that in a person, so we work well together, although at times it doesn't seem that way. I've been seeing her for 2 years now, and she's wearing a diamond ring (take from that whatever meaning you want)

We have an amazing relationship because we do not take everything as "End the relationship" when we don't get along... In case you didn't know yet, MG... i'm disagreeing with your statement about keeping a relationship up... I believe that if you are unhappy with a relationship you should WORK IT OUT! Don't dump someone in hopes that you'll find someone better, because that's just jaded and naive, you'll never find anyone different... we're all the same inside. The truth is, relationships take a LOT of work... so much that I suggest that those who are single, you should revel in your freedom while you have it... Not to say that I am not free, because I am very happy in my relationship...

Think of it this way... Anything you have that is better than nothing, is worth sacrificing to keep. I'm willing to NOT spend time with my friends on a weekend I was planning to if it means keeping my girlfriend happy. Just the same as she is willing to let me go have my fun with my friends when I want to, to keep me happy. Girlfriends do not "SUCK" they only require some patience, and understanding, and compromise.

If you cannot do these things, THEN end your relationship, because it is hopeless already.

Too many people give up these days... It's annoying that hearing the word "Divorced" isn't shocking anymore. Be more dedicated people... in everything you do.

I haven't had a girlfriend since my first year of college. And then I just didn't want one for a while, to concentrate on school. I would date and all that, but nothing serious. Now, I'm finding how hard it is to meet girls, as a graduate student in engineering. :(

It's truly sad. The only cute girls that I see are in the classes that I teach...and they're my students. (Which means that I can't have any kind of relationship with them, unless I am willing to get kicked out of school...all it takes is one rumor!) :(

Oh well, I don't think I could finish my master's if I had a girlfriend. We would be doing too many other things...lot's of things...a lot of the time...it would be fun. :D

Asha, I know how hard it is to find a GF. What has always happened for me is that when I finally stop looking, one of 'em drops into my lap, so to speak.

It was as if they (the girls) realized, "Oh, crap! He's finally figured out that he doesn't need one of us! Let's rope him in now before it's too late!" ;) Well, maybe not that exact thought, but it seemed like it at the time. :)

What I was saying was DIRECTLY to this... It is wrong to use someone for the sake of simply having someone to have sex with, or having someone to show off to your friends... Don't you get it? If you care for someone or say that you LOVE someone, then you should. Work things out and talk with your significant other rather than "using them" to just have a relationship. Lemme tell ya first I'm not a psychologist, so grab a big ol' barrel of salt and liberally season my words with the contents. I should also tell you that, for the most part, I'm a die-hard optimist.

That said, rejection isn't quite so bad. At the very least, you are getting rejected! There are some guys out there that bitch, whine, moan, and complain that they never pick up chicks, but they don't even go outside to do it in the first place. Be glad you are not one of them, and be glad that you have the cojones to actually approach and woman and get rejected.

Let me also say that finding the right woman is a search that can (and probably will) encompass years. There's a difference between finding someone and the one. Having just gotten finished (the wrong way) with a long engagement, I think I'm pretty qualified to state this. :)

Far from being a depressing point, you should think of this as a good point. Sure, it's gonna be years before you find the one. That doesn't mean you can't do other things in the meantime. Hell, the best way I know of to run into members of the opposite sex is to do those other things, instead of chasing skirts. What could those things be? Whatever, for all practical purposes--concerts, drag-racing, stump-pulling, volunteer work, damn near anything in the book. (Just stay away from the S&M, unless you like that kind of thing. ;) )

Let me just say that I have never found a girlfriend in a bar. Oh, I found a few women there, but no girlfriends. All the girlfriends came from those other activities. Hell, one time I met a nice woman at the freaking library where she worked. It didn't work out in the end, but it sure was a lot of fun.

And if you get rejected, try to find out why. Maybe what she tells you won't be something you want to change about yourself. That's all right. Just keep it in mind, and be aware that you probably shouldn't date people that will have a problem with whatever it was.

Well, you see, Randy's a bit......how shall we say......prejudiced. Apparently he's very racist and stuff, and he doesn't like girls all that much either. He's one tough bugger, sometimes he'll get int these moods where he'll tell u to do the stupidest things for no reason other then to keep you busy. It's Randy, there's no other explanation. On the other hand, Shorty has gotten on Randy's good side probably by proving herself in long, hard, closing-counts hours. She does a damn good job of it, and Randy likes that. Heh, I do a good job on Cafe too, it shows in my schedule. Hmm, let's see, I got all the busyest shifts this week, just like las week, and the week after that, and the month after that. I swear, I'm the ONLY one who likes Cafe, and so I work it all the time. But I do a good job of it too. See, apparently I didn't do such a good job on Floor, and so I was subsequenly removed, and sent back to bar. But along came my savior, Crystal Cr. Who traded her Cafe for my Bar. So you see, It's all about making a good impression on Randy, because he OWNZ the place. Darlene technically OWNS the place, but without Randy, there would be no Famous 8. Maybe cut your hair, or shorten it somehow. Wear a hat, or tuck it under a hat, or something. Trust me, it is a good thing to get on Randy's good side, as he works all the busy days. (He has no life.) Suck up, it won't do you any harm.

You could go about it the evil way. Hand your resume in to a DIFFERENT manager. Because they threw out your resume, they won't remember you at all. See, this could be an advantage to you. Get references, and hand your resume in again, but this time, look for a nicer manager. Hint: Adrien is nice (most of the time), Amy will also be nice to you, as will Darlene. Try to avoid Mark Sampson, as he sticks close to Randy and other managers, and HE IS NOT A REAL MANAGER. He is only an ASSISTANT-manager, and has no direct power over theater operations. (This does not mean you can piss him off, he makes "suggestions" to ther managers that can have pretty severe implications, he just can't go about it diectly.)

So yeah, that is the inner workings of Famous 8. Have fun with it.
