For sure.... Your dollar is worth so much more than ours anyway, so it'd be pretty cheap for you guys.

Toronto is so... clean.

At least compared to Boston. :)

Yes I have to say I agree, Atheist.

Is that because Canadia is somewhat more socialist than the US? I mean here, the only time the city is clean is if it has a lot of rich people in it (ala Bellevue, or Kirkland). Seattle is a pigsty compared to Bellevue.

Toronto isn't full of rich people... I mean come on, Atheist lives there along with Firefro... whooo ;)

I don't know the reason behind it, but since I have been to both Boston and Toronto I can agree... Toronto was much MUCH cleaner... I've also been to Los Angeles and San Fransisco... altho San Fran was not-so-dirty L.A. was unbelievably unclean. But I think San Fran has a whole culture of clean-freaks to thank for their cleanliness, right Laur? ;)

I don't think we have ammendments, do we?

Do you have rights? ;)

I wonder sometimes. Especially when I hear stuff like it's a crime to pay for medical treatment which is provided for by the government, like I did the other day. :( It was in an article that was talking about how Canadians come south to get needed medical treatment, and Americans go north to get cheap drugs.

Aluscia

Yes. It is a crime to pay for medical treatment (currently)... That is based on the law that people should be provided with that treatment *free of charge*... In the case of the people going south, it is because of the backlog of people lined up for MRIs, Kidney Dialysis, etc, for institutions that are already at capacity based on Provincial funds. In the case of Americans coming north, it's just because your drug companies are greedy... I mean, they're allowed to advertise on TV (which I don't think they're allowed to here, or weren't until recently).

Yeah gotta love those ads that are for meds that treat things like depression. BUT! They give you side effects like: diarreah, irritable bowels, nausea, vomiting, decreased sexual drive, sexual dysfunction, fatigue, headaches, and should not be used by pregnant women. Sounds like the cure is worse than the problem.

Stang

Exactly!

More side effects than the problem you came in with :barf .

KitZune

Those are possible side effects, not given side effects... Usually if you have any of those ill effects they will give you something different. I know this speaking as someone who is on three different mental stability medications ;)

Everyone's physiology is slightly different, and because drugs work very specifically, the difference in physiology is enough to make levels toxic/ineffective/random in various people.

Interestingly enough, if a drug doesn't work specifically enough, then a whole lot of people are gonna feel side-effects. Mainly because not all biochemical pathways are understood/known and so a drug could inadvertantly be affecting a pathway that no one knows about...

Plus, if the drug companies don't give a warning, and something happens to someone, there's a lawsuit waiting to happen.

Now back to the Toronto discussion.. :)

I miss home. I'll be back for three weeks in August, and I *can't* wait. Cambridge sucks more than downtown Boston.. ugh. It smells like urine out here, and the only time it doesn't stink is when it's too cold to smell anything.

Maybe we should plan another Canadian LAN, Atheist!
