You know the handicap ones that people have in their cars.

Is it me or are they just handing those things out like they were candy? I swear every car has them these days.

They really need to restrict those things and give them out to people that really need them not to someone that has a migraine here and there. People are abusing them. Oh and the ones that take them from their family members so they can park closer to the entrances. LAZY ASSES FREAKIN USE THOSE LEGS AND WALK!!!

Weird how this world works sometimes.

I got one cause I told them I had a hangnail...

Spinning Hat

I got one because I told the state I had 15 kids, and I was mentally retarded. :lol

XRogue
01-08-2003, 09:44 AM
Well I can testify you don't have 15 kids. As to the other part, you're on your own. :P

And dare I add, that Wally World wouldn't need 58 handicapped spaces in front of their stores if everyone and their dog Fred didn't have a blue tag.

You call it Wally World too?

My aunt called it that, and I was like "wth?".

XRogue
01-08-2003, 04:42 PM
Hehehe, yah I call it that. I have to do something to make fun of them, I shop there every week for groceries.

Spinning Hat

When I lived in Oklahoma, I shopped at WallyWorld once for groceries, and I'll never do it again. Never. Worst damn Grocery Store I had ever been to.

Gambit
01-09-2003, 08:13 AM
Depends on the individual store, really. We have some newish ones around here that are pretty decent.

We used to get our meat at Winn-Dixie, but they closed down. :(

XMEN Ashaman DTM
01-09-2003, 08:16 AM
"Winn-Dixie"?

I just go to Safeway or QFC.

Around here, Wally-World is where the welfare moms shop. I'm not getting tangled up with them. Not ever.

Ghryphen
01-09-2003, 09:46 AM
Ive never been to Wal-Mart, I just build them :D

Safeway is where we go all the time. We go to Fred Meyer for meat though.

Cerberus

Wal-Mart is a nightmare for Grocery. IT's a non union, Crapfest. If you want to shop where they have brainwashed employees who think getting 9 bucks an hour is great and being yelled at and forced to work overtime off the clock is the standard. Keep on shopping there. As for me I hate Walmart.

Stang
01-09-2003, 04:57 PM
The Wal-Mart around here is crappy inside for it going up just 2 yrs ago. The inside is all trashy looking, reminds me of Kmart when I was a kid. Havent been in Kmart in yrs either. Ever since Target came in thats the only place I go, close and good prices.

Spinning Hat
01-10-2003, 05:12 AM
I shop at Cub Foods mostly, and if I am down south and need to go to a grocery store, I usually go to Albertson's. Both stores are about the same price and quality wise, but Cub's Layout is generally much better.

Stang
01-10-2003, 04:31 PM
The Albertsons around here need a new look inside or something cuz you walk inside and feel like your in the ghetto or something.

Safeways keeps their stores updated, clean, and good sales.

Ghryphen
01-10-2003, 07:42 PM
HHHaha Albertson's, who had all the commercials that said, come shop with us, you don't need a club card like Safeway.......now they offer club cards :nono

I haven't been inside an Albertson's in years.

XRogue
01-11-2003, 08:21 AM
Heh, I have an Albertson's card, a Randall's/Tom Thumb card and a Kroger card. Obtained specifically for the purpose of getting those nice loss leaders they offer, and I pretty much buy nothing else in their stores, except for a laundry additive Kroger's carries that nobody else has around here. I love thumbing my nose at overpriced stores. :D

Stang

That and Top Foods is farther away, Safeway is more convient :).

Do you still bag your own in Top Foods still? I remember going in with my Mom and like to do that :).

XRogue
01-13-2003, 07:55 PM
Heh, there is a store called Aldi's where you not only bag your own groceries, you bring your own bags/containers or you don't get any. And to get a cart you pay a quarter (refunded when you bring the cart back in.) It's a bummer, but there are no Aldi's here in Texas, cause I understand it is a really inexpensive place to shop. All their stuff is generic, so some may not like to shop there, but I am the generic brand QUEEN.

I remember going to stay with my Grandma and we would go into this little grocery store and if I remember right you got a pin, more like a crayon though, and wrote the price on the items. I think back now and was like hey how do you know if someone put the right amount on it :).

Wonder if its still there :D.

Jode
01-14-2003, 09:46 PM
Wow that would be weird Stang.

No you don't bag your own groceries at Tops anymore. ;)
I like them because they are the only store with a scratch bakery.
Every place else pulls their frozen dough out of the freezer and then bakes it! YUCK!!

Xenocidez66

Here in Iceland we bag our own groceries but also have to pay for the bag.

Spinning Hat
01-15-2003, 04:55 AM
I wouldn't have a problem with Bags. I have enough of them to last me 5 or 6 years. :lol And as far as baggin groceries goes, I've always had to bag them myself.

Jode
01-15-2003, 01:51 PM
I think you either had to buy the bags or bring your own in Germany too! I forgot about that!
Most of the women carried these huge baskets they would put everything in.
But people mostly just shopped for one meal at a time.

Xenocidez66
01-15-2003, 02:49 PM
We do alot of that one meal at a time thing here as well. Sometimes it just works out that way.

Spinning Hat
01-15-2003, 03:02 PM
It's hard to feed just 3 people. Trying to buy enough to feed them, but not have a lot of leftovers is hard to do. Especially when you get better prices when you buy stuff in bigger packages.. Most of the time, not always....

XRogue

XRogue
01-16-2003, 07:12 AM
Nope, you are not the only one. I used to work at a pizza place, and it's easy for me to make them now. Besides, I make better cookies than our local bakeries, and my bread is just as good. Oh, and my pies are better than theirs too. :D The fact that storemade pies are too sweet here may have a wee bit to do with that too. :D

Jode
01-16-2003, 09:05 PM
My family makes their own pizza too...it just hasn't been passed down to me yet! :lol
Guess I need to get crackin' on that! ;)
I make my own cookies and pies, no bread yet, not patient enough. Plus I love warm bread out of the oven so I would eat the whole thing I'm sure!!:s0003:

I cook pretty much anything.

Pizza is one of my faves, because I used to work in a pizza place too! I like cooking with pastas though. And my favorite thing to bake is probably a tie between cookies and brownies. I can do cakes, but the frosting is a bit of work for me. (Unless I just want to slap something on there and not get fancy.)

Ooh! Coffee! Everyone drank coffee when I was in HS. (I never drank it until college though. I preferred pop.)
Anyways, just open an espresso stand that sells "special" coffee blends. With your choice of herb and beans. In fact, you could call it "Herb and Beans".

I see a market there... especially since both are addictive. ;)

Haven't tried the new Oreo's. Don't know that I actually like coffee, either, I just hate being comatose in the morning worse.

No, we don't have something on the side, Asha, it's just that the teens around here seem to eat nothing but fast food or tv dinners.
