While flipping thru the channels today and seeing all the ceremonies going on and the President and wife at all the sites I was SOOO excited they didnt focus all on the New York. I mean there were other planes that went down and they never get any reconginition.
I felt for sure that every broadcast was going to be based in New York. Dont get me wrong they are great people there that did some huroric stuff and we will never forget that. But like the people in flight 93, that landed in Penn., they tried to take down the terrorists and didnt get to their destination. Or the plane that went into the Pentagon, that was a big structure too, I know nothing like the WTC's but come on. Their were lives on ALL those planes.
So I was very surprised to see that they focused on the other sites for once and let them have their lives in the lime light.

I have heard that even for those that do not believe in God, it has had the same effect.

I didn't turn my TV on at all Wednesday.
My prayers are with the survivors of the event, and all those touched by the deaths of those who were in the buildings or the planes (including emergency crews), but I have no desire to see what politicians or preachers have to say about an event like September 11th, 2001. I have my own thoughts... And rather than start a flame war, I leave my message like this.

I didnt watch tv that day either. Seeing planes going into a building over and over again is just too sad for me to watch and then listen to politicans and specialists talk about what could have been is usually now.
I honored those in my own way, with MY feelings. But glad they were all honored.
We went to the Fair and went to the Tribute Ceremony they had. It was very good. The Ft. Lewis Commander was there and his speech was awesome. He talked about the soldiers still protecting us today and it was very touching. Most of all he talked about our countries unity and that even the turnout for that day was touching.
;)
I didn't watch TV either but nice to know they were focusing on other aspects of that day as well.
I think the most inspiring thing I saw was while driving to the fair and entire high school class was out in their field waving flags. I starting crying right then. Also there were people just standing on the sidewalks handing flags to the cars going by. Very cool!!
Hugs to all!! :gryph6:

Its great to see all of us coming together again, too bad it had to take such a tragedy to make it happen.
