Did any one know that the U.S. government has lost 6,600 computers??? Both laptop and desk top models. 2,000 were lost by customs, and 2,400 were lost by the I.R.S. I guess we know where part of the tax money goes. This scares the **** out of me. If customs can't keep something as simple as a computer safe how are they supposed to help imagration keep the rest of the country safe???

Most of the computers lost by the I.R.S. had improtant tax information on them, liks social security number and things like that. What gives.

I love my country but the government scares the **** out of me

They must have bought new computers, and some staff decided they needed a new PC more than the Government did. :(

Well thats my guess. Do you realize the price of the average computer the government buys is $1500 now multiply that by 6,600 and thats $9,900,000. Well spent tax money. Thats crap plain and simple.

Hope they cleared those computers before giving them away too, watch in a few years they will find someone that worked there has gotten Social Security info and used it to get money.

The government scares me too! Somethings they just think WAY too deeply into and waste time/money and the answer in the end was VERY simple and right there in front of their faces. Makes ya wonder how we let these people into help control our country.

Here in Washington I see the waste of our tax dollars right on the highway. They are mowing the middle median, that is filled with grass and weeds, and are in the process of putting tons of bark in its place. Id like the grass there more cuz by next summer the bark will just be riddled in weeds and grass again. TOATL WASTE OF OUR MONEY! I would rather see it go to fixing some of these roads around here, schools, or anything else that needs it, not the middle of the freeway.

No thats the problem. Most of those computres had that infomation. SSN's and addresses and the like. Can you imagine the damage that can be caused by that kind of information. Its the customs athourity computer that are gone that scares me. What did we loose there.

I know that if my info happens to be used to get money or credit or whatever, and they come after ME... Let's just say that lawsuit will be the worst of their worries.

I think that if most people knew about the mistakes the government makes most people would feel the same way. All one needs to do is watch the various news agencies. But most sheep in the U.S. don't make that effort and the government stays safe and none of these mistakes get fixed. Wierd.

A friend once told me that "Too much knowledge makes one angry." And I have to agree. But sometimes, people don't change things until they get angry, and then, things don't turn out for the best all the time.

Sort of like my signature. With out a level head and some thought nothing will change for the better.
