Alright guys, i'm ordering a mouse from this one site, and I saw a pair of headphones/mic that I like. Is this a good deal, 130 bucks for this item? http://www.razerzone.com/store/index...products_id=38

BTW, I plan on using this as my speakers. And I want to have like an all in one deal with the mic.

i'm assuming thats 130 USD?

Cutting through the techo-babble on their website;

'The Razer Barracuda HP-1 Gaming Headphones also provides for eight discrete audio drivers for optimal positional audio without compromising the gamer’s comfort when using the headset.'

- i'm assuming they mean full 3d surround audio, especially with regard to environments wherein that audio would rapidly change (like an FPS). alright, better rendering of your aural environment. now, take a normal set of headphones in the same style that you'd buy for, say, 30 bucks. While fine-tuned audio drivers are awesome, paying for sensitive 8-driver audio that, while engrossed in the game, you may not even notice, might not be useful.

'[with these drivers]...the Razer Barracuda HP-1 Gaming Headphones delivers pinpoint positional accuracy essential for gaming'

- if this product were a mouse, i'd be sold. (and with this phrase, they're appealing right to the FPS crowd) honestly, while the human ear is a neat thing, i don't think the average human being can, unless they've trained their hearing to do so, on their own measure pinpoint accuracy through sound alone. Think also, in what game do you need pinpoint audio accuracy over visual? Pinpoint audio accuracy (with 6 normal freq drivers and 2 bass drivers) seems necessary if you're an audio engineer. Not a gamer.

'99% Oxygen-Free Cable.'

- sweet jesus!

now, what IS awesome, is that there's a built-in mic with a pair of headphones. When playing RO with SiFi, i've got my headphones on, and my mic around my neck with its single headphone unplugged. Otherwise, one ear gets sore after awhile. And most of the time, the damn thing wont stay on my big fat head. A solid, stable setup like this would eliminate that, or worse, having to lean over one standing on your desk to Skype it up. If you can find a similar setup for less, you might find yourself with equal satisfaction.

All told, sh@rpie, they're pretty but i think they're a lil pricey. For 130 USD you could buy yourself a really decent pair of headphones and $100 worth of pizza

I have to agree they make them sound good and they are nice looking but not for $130 I would spend that money on other stuff.
