Sorry to jump in late here. The quote above is myself... to a point. I was thinking about how I'd handled the break with my ex, which was this: Once I got my stuff back, I dropped every pretense of making an effort to communicate with her. Complete and total cut-off.

I did it because after what had happened, I had no desire to communicate with her, nor to offere forgiveness. But still, every so often, I wonder if I could have been a little less ruthless. But then I realize that I did it in emotional self-preservation, and while it doesn't make my actions any more palatable, it certainly justifies them.

Then again, I am a Capricorn.

Laur, congrats on coming to grips with it all. Some people never manage to do even that, even if their own 'normality' is what they're coming to grips with, so you've got a head-start on most of the populace already. Hats off, dude.
