Heh, I have an Albertson's card, a Randall's/Tom Thumb card and a Kroger card. Obtained specifically for the purpose of getting those nice loss leaders they offer, and I pretty much buy nothing else in their stores, except for a laundry additive Kroger's carries that nobody else has around here. I love thumbing my nose at overpriced stores.

That and Top Foods is farther away, Safeway is more convient .

Do you still bag your own in Top Foods still? I remember going in with my Mom and like to do that .

Heh, there is a store called Aldi's where you not only bag your own groceries, you bring your own bags/containers or you don't get any. And to get a cart you pay a quarter (refunded when you bring the cart back in.) It's a bummer, but there are no Aldi's here in Texas, cause I understand it is a really inexpensive place to shop. All their stuff is generic, so some may not like to shop there, but I am the generic brand QUEEN.

I remember going to stay with my Grandma and we would go into this little grocery store and if I remember right you got a pin, more like a crayon though, and wrote the price on the items. I think back now and was like hey how do you know if someone put the right amount on it .

Wonder if its still there .

Wow that would be weird Stang.

No you don't bag your own groceries at Tops anymore.
I like them because they are the only store with a scratch bakery.
Every place else pulls their frozen dough out of the freezer and then bakes it! YUCK!!

Here in Iceland we bag our own groceries but also have to pay for the bag.

I wouldn't have a problem with Bags. I have enough of them to last me 5 or 6 years. And as far as baggin groceries goes, I've always had to bag them myself.

I think you either had to buy the bags or bring your own in Germany too! I forgot about that!
Most of the women carried these huge baskets they would put everything in.
But people mostly just shopped for one meal at a time.

We do alot of that one meal at a time thing here as well. Sometimes it just works out that way.

It's hard to feed just 3 people. Trying to buy enough to feed them, but not have a lot of leftovers is hard to do. Especially when you get better prices when you buy stuff in bigger packages.. Most of the time, not always....
