Default Oscars

Lord of the Rings won all 11 awards it was nominated for last night, tying it for most awards won at one ceremony with Ben-Hur and Titanic.

Hotties of the show included: Uma Thurman (yum), Nicole Kidman (always hot), Johnny Depp (ultra-yum), Angelina Jolie (so good), and Charlize Theron (very nice)

Fuglies of the show included: Liv Tyler (What was with that look... Lisa Loeb glasses and sculpted stairs for a hairdo? man...), Dianne Keaton (She looked like she was going to a funeral... maybe her own?), and Renee Zellweger's dress (a white cape? ghey)

Honerable mention totally goes to Annie Lennox, who not only successfully concealed her age , but managed to look amazing, and took home her first oscar of her long career.

Ya, I thought Annie was remarkably well-preserved. Did you know she's FIFTY this year?

Oscars Winners!
A CLEAN SWEEP!

RETURN OF THE KING: BEST PICTURE!

Peter Jackson for Best Director

Grant Major and Dan Hennah won the Oscar for Best Art Direction.

Ngila Dickson and Richard Taylor won for Best Costume.

Jim Rygiel, Joe Letteri, Randall William Cook and Alex Funke for Best Visual Effects.

Richard Taylor and Peter King for Best Makeup.

Christopher Boyes, Michael Semanick, Michael Hedges and Hammond Peek for Best Sound Mixing.

Howard Shore won for Best Original Score.

James Selkirk won for Best Film Editing.

Annie Lennox, Fran Walsh and Howard Shore won for Best Music (Song).

Fran Walsh, Peter Jackson and Philippa Boyens won for Best Adapted Screenplay.

And here is a list of all 11. I think I will not comment on what I woulda done different or which Oscars I didn't want them to win, as regardless of that, this was an immense and stunning achievment in film.

NIce thanks for the recap. I stopped watching award shows a while back but still interested in seeing who won and what everyone was wearing.

Ann Lennox is 50? Dang she looks good .

The suit for Keaton, no no that was just wrong and the hat didnt help it at all.

I think they will be releasing the theatrical version in May, rather than August as before. That means that the extended version will come out sooner-duh, since they won't need to do it in November to drum up interest for the release of another LOTR movie this time. But I have no word as to when the EE will be definitely coming out, tho when I do hear, I will be sure to tell ya'll pronto!
